- 3rd Interbalkan IT Forum
In
its sustained effort for promoting the Information Society Technologies
in SEE (South Eastern Europe) ISIS project strongly supported
by ARIES - Romanian Association for Electronic and Software Industry
-, the Romanian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology
and the Ministry of Education and Research, will organize on September
25-27, 2002 in Bucharest, at ROMEXPO Exhibition centre, a big
event on Information and Communication Technologies, the title
of which is: "ISIS - 3rd INTERBALKAN IT FORUM - The e-government
in the South Eastern Europe". The international conference
of the ISIS project will bring into discussion topics like: e-government,
information society, e-government projects and best practices,
the impact of new technology on efficiency and transparency at
administration level.
This conference will bring together a vast multinational
community with many common characteristics to promote the awareness
on the Information Society and cooperation and enhance the cooperation
in the Region. Representatives of all the countries of the Region
will be invited and there will be a particular effort to integrate
their point of view in order these Conferences to become the real
common IT voice on key policy issues concerned with the development
of the Information Society Representatives of the E.U. Member
states will also be invited so that the Conferences will bring
closer the SOUTHEASTERN EUROPE to the rest of Europe and better
integrate their projects in the European perspective.
The Conference is held during the transition period from
the 5th to the 6th Framework Program. By consequence, the conference
is also thought as a bridge between the two Framework Programs,
prepared to depict the new instruments of the next Framework Program,
as well as the appropriate ways to strengthen the involvement
of the NAS, including Romania, in the new EU RTD Programs.
In this respect, the main objectives of the Conference will be:
To share
the e-Government practices of countries involved in ISIS,
To discuss
the issues and problems related to e-Government projects,
To identify
a number of common implemental e-Government projects in the region,
To identify
possible means of government and business cooperation in the field
of e-Government.
