03-22-05 20:43

The Dambovita-based company Ram Prod, which was established in the autumn of 2003 and bottles Sapte Izvoare mineral water, expects its turnover to increase to some 18bn ROL (500,000 euros), according to general manager Nicolae Cristea. The mineral water market is worth 280 million euros. To start the business the company took out more than 10 million euros in loans.

"We are relatively new on the market and sales are not that high. The bottling capacity of our factory is 8,000 bottles/hour, yet less than 60% of this is used," Costea said. He did not specify the value of last year's turnover.

Ram Prod is controlled by Anton Radulescu, a businessman from Dambovita and former general manager of Romcif Fieni. According to statements by Radulescu at the time the factory began operations, Ram Prod took out some 10 million euros in loans from BCR and Raiffeisen in order to buy the equipment at the Sapte Izvoare factory.
